Ekta Mall is ready to be opened in Chhattisgarh on the lines of Gujarat. On the lines of one district one product, different shops from districts across the country will open in the mall. It will be built on 5 acres at a cost of 250 crores. With the opening of the mall, people will be able to easily get handicraft items from all over the country under one roof.
In this, sale of materials related to handicrafts of other states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will be done. Due to this, people will not have to wander for materials related to handicrafts. Raipur Development Authority (RDA) has been made responsible for this.
A meeting was held at Kanwadiya in Gujarat to inquire about the construction of Ekta Mall in the capital. Officers of Raipur’s RDA participated in the meeting. For this, RDA is looking for land in Raipur and Nava Raipur.
RDA will start its construction as soon as the land is received. If the RDA officials are to be believed, soon its DPR will be prepared and further process will be started. Its opening will provide employment to small entrepreneurs.
On the lines of one district one product, 28 different shops of 28 states across the country will be set up in Ekta Mall. In this, the best product of their district coming under each state will be sold. The main objective of starting this scheme is to promote traditional art by preserving and developing local crafts.
With its commencement, the income of the local people will increase. One district one product scheme will also develop local skills and at the same time these products will be sold through outlets linked with tourism, so that maximum profits can be made.
RDA CEO Dharmesh Sahu has sought land in Raipur and Nava Raipur from Khadi Village Industries Department for Ekta Mall. Wherever the land will be made available by the Khadi Village Industries Department, the same mall will be constructed. RDA has set a target of 2 years to make it. As soon as the construction of Ekta Mall is completed, the department will hand it over to the government. After this, the government will appoint a nodal agency to allot the shops.
Recently, a meeting of nodal agencies across the country was held at Kanwaria in Gujarat. Its outline was prepared in the meeting. RDA officials from Chhattisgarh also participated in this meeting. In this, it was told through the projector that how Ekta Mall would be built, how it would be modelled, how the shops would be designed in it. Along with this, what will be the process of allotment of shops.
This is how small entrepreneurs will get support, small traders will also benefit
According to the official, women self-help groups and small entrepreneurs will be able to sell their products easily here under this scheme. Its special thing will be that two-three times a year fairs will also be organized here. Due to which the small entrepreneurs of other districts will also be benefited.
