February is known as the month of love, and it’s a time when people express their love for one another. On this special day, some people express their love and promise to stay together for seven lives. There are many such stories of love that are immortal in history, and one such story is about Naib Tehsildar Amber Gupta and Accounts Officer Hina Singh Gupta posted in Ambagarh Chowki block of Rajnandgaon.

Amber and Hina studied in the same school and class, where they were strong rivals of each other. If one’s marks came high, the other left no stone unturned to beat it. The whole classroom knew this, and friends used to tease them about it. They used to have heated arguments at times.

“I was on the merit list in Class 10,” says Hina, who became number two when Amber came first. Then they both competed to leave each other behind. As teenagers, when they started studying together in 11th and 12th class, the quarrels decreased a bit. It was a bit understanding. Then their marks in the final exam came out the same. After this, the fights stopped, they both started liking each other and became passengers of the love journey.

After finishing school, Amber and Hina did engineering together and went to Bengaluru to pursue studies and career. They also worked there together. At the same time, both of them decided that now not only work and studies but also life has to be spent together.

Due to some family problems, Amber had to leave his job in Bengaluru and come back to Chhattisgarh. Relatives expressed surprise that he did not leave a good job, but then the house needed him, Hina was with him in this difficult decision. They both returned here.

To support the family financially, it was necessary for Amber to work here and also take care of his parents together. He kept working while Hina focused on making herself more capable. They did a temporary job in the water resources department where Amber went to work every day while Hina started coaching under the guidance of PSC expert Ankit Agarwal as soon as they went to their office. Whatever was taught in coaching, she used to teach Amber when he returned at night.

In 2017, Amber got 30th rank and Hina got 37th rank in the CG-PSC State Service Examination. Today, this pair inspires youngsters to work hard.
