Raipur, October 12, 2023 – The city of Raipur saw the successful conclusion of the two-day event, “Noni Johar 2.0,” held at Sayaji Hotel. Organized in collaboration with UNICEF, the Department of Public Relations Chhattisgarh, We The People, Alliance for Behavior Change, CG Agricon Samiti, and My FM, the program was inaugurated to coincide with the International Day of the Girl Child.

Addressing the pressing need for widespread awareness and de-stigmatization of mental health, Chetna Desai, UNICEF’s Child Protection Specialist, emphasized the profound impact of mental health issues, particularly brought to the forefront during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event shed light on the commendable efforts of youth in the domain of mental health and behavioral improvements. Ramesh Kumar, Manager of Chhattisgarh – We The People, introduced the objectives of the Noni Johar 2.0 program, aiming to facilitate dialogues on mental health, identify emerging challenges, share success stories of resilient individuals, and promote self-care initiatives.

During the event, a poignant street play titled “Adolescence – The Gateway to New Opportunities” was presented by volunteers from NYKS, aiming to motivate and inspire the audience. Additionally, a panel discussion on “Youth Engagement with Mental Health in Youth India” explored the concept of mental health in adolescents and young adults, moderated by Manas Banerjee, Secretary of CG Agricon Samiti.

The discussion involved insights from panelists like Danish K Hussain, who emphasized the prevalence of mental health concerns across rural and urban areas, urging for increased awareness and open dialogue.

Ms. Vibhuti’s engaging session encouraged the young audience to embrace emotional release through her activity “Letters of Hopes,” adding a dynamic aspect to the event.

The program concluded on a high note with a captivating session by Manjul Bharadwaj, a distinguished theater artist, engaging the audience with his activity “Story Beginning.” Looking ahead, the event is set to continue tomorrow with Shri. Manjul Bharadwaj’s interactive activity titled “Let’s Finish the Story Together,” promising further engagement and insight.
