Due to the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for November of this year, the state government has made the decision to advance the second edition of the highly anticipated Chhattisgarh Olympics-2023. Originally planned for a later date, this prestigious sporting event will now take place two-and-a-half months earlier than anticipated.
The inaugural edition of the Chhattisgarh Olympics was held from October 6, 2022, to January 6, 2023. While it showcased the incredible talent and sportsmanship of the state’s athletes, the event was overshadowed by the unfortunate and untimely demise of three kabaddi players. Despite this setback, the government is determined to organise a successful and memorable second edition of the Olympics.
With great enthusiasm and a renewed commitment to the spirit of the games, the Chhattisgarh Olympics-2023 will kick off on July 17, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Hareli Tihar. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Baghel himself during his address at the state-wide ‘Bhent Mulakat Abhiyan’ held in Bhatgaon, under the Dhamtari assembly constituency.
The rescheduled Chhattisgarh Olympics-2023 promises to be a grand celebration of sports and culture, uniting athletes, spectators, and communities from all corners of the state.
