As you know Mata Kaushalya temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Mata Kaushalya, mother of Lord Ram. It is the only temple in the world dedicated to Mata Kaushalya. It is located at Chandkhuri village around 27km away from Raipur.
Padmashree artist Kailash Kher arrived to perform at the closing ceremony of Mata Kaushalya Mahotsav at Chandkhuri, Raipur on Monday 24th April, 2023.
He sings songs with a music style influenced by Indian folk music and Sufi music. He was inspired by the classical musicians’ Pandit Kumar Gandharva, Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, and the Qawwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Remembering the difficult times of life, Kailash Kher said – We have done many types of jobs. Taught tuition, worked in the business of exporting clothes. We started exporting wall hangings, clothes and handicrafts to the country and later to foreign countries as well. I sent the products to Germany also when he was 22 years old.
Kailash Kher said – I thought we were successful. Now we will change everything. But at the same time a big order got cancelled. Now we have a lot of debt, he said, my mind became very sad. We went to Rishikesh to live among the saints. There we jumped into Ganga ji to end ourselves.
